A Case of Acneiform Eruption Induced Erlotinib(Tarceva)
Kim Yoon-Young

Kim Si-Yong
Abstract
Erlotinib (Tarceva(R)) is a new anticancer agent, acting as a reversible tyrosine kinase inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor. It blocks signal transduction pathways implicated in the proliferation and survival of cancer cells. Side effects of erlotinib are mostly on the skin, such as, acneiform eruption and xerosis which are related to the interruption of normal epidermal and hair follicular kinetics. Herein we report a case of a 66 year-old man diagnosed with lung cancer with distant metastasis, who developed an acneiform eruption on his face after 5 days of erlotinib.
